A antibioticoprofilaxia durante o ciclo gravídico-puerperal é claramente distinta do uso de antibióticos para tratamento de infecções estabelecidas e, frequentemente, é prescrita em bases empíricas. The use of prophylactic antibiotics during pregnancy and the puerperium is clearly different from the use of antibiotics in the treatment of established infections and is frequently prescribed on empiric basis. Because of the widespread use of antibiotics and the emergence of resistant strains of common bacteria, associated with the increased bacterial virulence, the authors carried out a systematic review in order to analyze the administration of prophylactic antibiotics in different types of delivery
